Osment’s heartfelt message came as she was unable to attend the ‘Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special’ on March 24, 2026, due to filming commitments for her CBS sitcom ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’. The anniversary marks two decades since the original series premiered on March 24, 2006, launching the careers of many, including Miley Cyrus.
In her absence, Osment shared a video on Instagram, expressing her gratitude to fans who have supported her throughout the years. “Hannah Montana changed my life, it gave me a lifelong respect for this medium of comedy, it taught me discipline, patience, timing and respect working in an adult space so young,” she added.
Mitchel Musso, who also skipped the anniversary special, echoed Osment’s sentiments, stating, “The coolest part of the ‘Hannah Montana’ legacy is seeing fans building families and passing on the show to their kids.” He too expressed appreciation for the show’s enduring impact.
The special featured Miley Cyrus performing fan-favorite tracks from the series, alongside a surprise appearance by Selena Gomez, delighting fans who tuned in to celebrate the show’s legacy.
Osment, who was just 14 years old when ‘Hannah Montana’ first aired, reflected on how the show shaped her career and personal growth. “Thank you for letting me into your living rooms and I hope to still be there many years from now. Would never be where I am without you guys, working on another beautiful show I love so dearly,” she concluded.
