The animated movie ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ centers on the South Korean pop girl group Huntr/X, who battle demons with music. This film has captivated audiences globally, leading to a passionate fandom and even winning two Oscars. In response to this phenomenon, McDonald’s is launching two special meals inspired by the film, set to be available starting March 31, 2026.
The first offering, the Huntr/X Meal, features a 10-piece order of Chicken McNuggets, a medium soft drink, and the innovative Ramyeon McShaker Fries, seasoned with soy, garlic, sesame, and spice. Each meal will also include a collectible card pack, which contains a photocard and a Derpy the Tiger access card for fans.
In addition, the Saja Boys Breakfast Meal includes a Sausage McMuffin with Egg, Hash Browns, and a small soft drink. This meal is complemented by a peppery Spicy Saja Sauce, enhancing the breakfast experience.
Both meals are designed to reflect South Korean flavors and food traditions, appealing to fans of the film and the KPop genre. The Derpy McFlurry, a dessert option, combines creamy vanilla soft serve with berry popping pearls in a wild berry sauce, adding to the unique offerings.
Marian Lee, a representative involved in the collaboration, stated, “With McDonald’s, we were able to turn the rivalry between The Saja Boys and Huntr/X into something fans can actually experience.” This partnership aims to create a deeper connection between fans and the worlds they love.
Alyssa Buetikofer emphasized the importance of fan engagement, saying, “Everything we do at McDonald’s is for the fans, and no one can relate to that more than Netflix and KPop Demon Hunters.” She further noted that bringing together two massive fandoms was a natural fit.
The meals will be available for a limited time, and fans can scan a QR code on the Derpy access card to unlock exclusive content via the McDonald’s app. This integration of digital engagement with food offerings is a strategic move to enhance the fan experience.
As the launch date approaches, excitement builds among fans eager to experience these unique meals. Observers anticipate that this collaboration will not only boost McDonald’s sales but also further solidify the cultural impact of KPop and its global fandom.
