Sgt. Billy Ray commented, “The plane did catch fire. That would indicate some pretty severe damage to the plane.” Eyewitness Cecil Keith added, “Something was definitely wrong.”

The identities of the victims have not yet been released. A second aircraft in the area landed safely at New Braunfels airport shortly after the incident.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading the investigation into this tragic event. They will examine the flight path and any potential factors that could have contributed to the crash.
