Chase Claypool is trying out for the Green Bay Packers during their rookie minicamp. This comes after two seasons out of the NFL due to injuries and disappointing performances.

Claypool last played for the Miami Dolphins on January 7, 2024. He recorded just one catch for three yards in that game. His last significant action came in 2023 when he played 12 games, finishing with eight catches for 77 yards and one touchdown.

After being released by the Buffalo Bills due to a toe injury during training camp, he announced his intention to make an NFL comeback on July 3, 2025. Claypool was a second-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2020 NFL Draft, where he had a strong rookie season with 62 catches for 879 yards and nine touchdowns.

Claypool is among eight players trying out for the Packers at this minicamp. Coach Matt LaFleur praised him, saying, “He’s had some great film out there. He’s been productive and he looks like he’s in great shape.” This highlights Claypool’s determination to regain his previous form.

In October 2023, Claypool was traded to the Chicago Bears. The move followed a series of struggles that led to his eventual release from the Bills. His injury history has raised questions about his durability and future in the league.

Claypool expressed optimism about his comeback, stating, “I deeply and truly believe that the pieces will align, and I will work my way into the position to show off what’s been suppressed these last two years.” His commitment to returning to form remains evident as he trains with the Packers.

The next few days will be critical as scouts evaluate his performance at minicamp. Observers are eager to see if he can reclaim his spot in the NFL after such a turbulent period.
