Chirayu Rana accused Lorna Hajdini, a JPMorgan executive, of sexual harassment and coercion. Following an internal investigation, JPMorgan declared these allegations a complete fabrication.
As of early Tuesday, JPMorgan found no evidence supporting Rana’s claims. The bank stated that Rana refused to cooperate with the investigation.
Rana filed a complaint alleging race and gender-based harassment. He claimed that Hajdini threatened to ruin his life if he did not comply with her demands.
Lorna Hajdini categorically denied all allegations. She stated that she never engaged in any inappropriate conduct with Rana.
The internal investigation revealed that they were colleagues on the leveraged finance team, not in a subordinate-superior relationship. Observers note that Hajdini is viewed as a top performer at JPMorgan.
Rana’s lawsuit was filed under the pseudonym John Doe and accused Hajdini of drugging him and coercing him into sexual acts. A source close to Hajdini remarked that Rana has tarnished her reputation with these claims.
JPMorgan emphasized that the complainant has not provided facts central to supporting his allegations. They stated, “Following an investigation, we don’t believe there’s any merit to these claims.”
Rana is now a principal at investment firm Bregal Sagemount. The situation continues to develop as both parties prepare for potential legal battles ahead.
