Christopher Knight reflects on a near-romantic relationship with Eve Plumb, revealing he wasn’t ready for the connection despite her feelings. The two starred together on The Brady Bunch from 1969 to 1974.
As of midday, Knight stated that he realized their mutual feelings too late, just as the show was ending. He revealed that they went on a date after the series concluded.
Eve Plumb described their date as “sweet” but noted they were too good of friends to transition into a romantic relationship. She later wrote about this in her memoir Happiness Included: Jan Brady and Beyond.
Within hours of this revelation, Knight shared his thoughts: “Eve was more mature than me very early [and] always had her claim on me, but I wasn’t there.” He compared their near-romance to “getting a kiss on two different trains right as they separate.”
Both actors have remained friends since their time on The Brady Bunch. They still keep in touch and have monthly Zoom calls with their spouses.
In 1995, Eve Plumb married Ken Pace, while Christopher Knight married Cara Kokenes in 2016. Their attempts at romance ended with laughter and resignation that they’d always be sister and brother in real life.
