Dylan Carter, a promising young singer from ‘The Voice’, tragically died in a car accident on April 25, 2026. He was just 24 years old.
The crash occurred late Saturday night on U.S. Route 21 in Colleton County, South Carolina. Officials reported that he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Carter suffered blunt force injuries, which authorities ruled as accidental. He was driving and wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Just weeks before his death, Carter gained national recognition for his emotional performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You” during the blind auditions of ‘The Voice’. His audition earned him a four-chair turn from all the judges.
He co-founded a nonprofit organization called The Local Voice and was also known as a realtor and campground owner. His contributions to music and community were widely celebrated.
Reba McEntire expressed her grief, stating, “We will miss Dylan so much. He was a brilliant, kind and talented young man who brought a huge ray of sunshine to The Voice. Rest in peace, my dear friend.”
