Alec Baldwin, 68, remains at the center of a legal storm following the tragic incident on the set of ‘Rust’ where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed. Baldwin was initially charged with involuntary manslaughter in January 2023, but the charge was dropped in April 2023. In January 2024, Baldwin faced the same charge again, only for all charges to be dismissed in July 2024.

In a recent statement, Baldwin expressed a desire to retire and spend more time with his seven children. “I don’t want to work anymore. I don’t. I really don’t. I want to retire and stay home with my kids,” he said, reflecting on the impact of the incident on his life.

For the past three and a half years, Baldwin has largely stayed out of the public eye, grappling with the aftermath of the incident. “Because of the situation in New Mexico, which was very painful, I wound up staying home a lot,” he added. The assistant director had informed Baldwin that the gun was a ‘cold gun’ before the tragic event unfolded.

The incident has not only affected Baldwin’s career but also his personal life. He has described the tragedy as “unspeakably difficult to deal with,” emphasizing the emotional toll it has taken on him and his family. “I was home and I got used to it, and I don’t want to leave my house anymore,” Baldwin stated, highlighting his desire for solitude and family time.

Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the film’s armorer, was convicted of loading a live round into the gun that Baldwin fired, further complicating the narrative surrounding the incident. Baldwin’s legal troubles and personal reflections continue to unfold, drawing significant media attention.
