A hacktivist group claims responsibility for a DDoS attack that has caused a significant eBay outage, impacting users globally.
As of early Tuesday, eBay is experiencing severe issues with search, log in, checkout, and item descriptions. Users report being unable to see seller descriptions or add items to their carts.
The problems began shortly after 3 p.m. EST on April 26, 2026. By 5 p.m. EST, over 800 reports of issues had been logged on Downdetector.
The eBay API has been down for over four hours. This disruption is affecting third-party tools that rely on it.
Reports indicate that the outage is not limited to the United States; users in the UK, Canada, and Australia are also experiencing difficulties.
The group known as 313 Team has publicly stated they are behind the DDoS attack. However, eBay has not acknowledged the situation or provided any timeline for resolution.
Many users express frustration online. One user stated, “Cannot go to my cart on eBay, nor see seller’s description of items in listings.” Another added, “There seems to be a problem serving the request at this time.”
Despite these widespread issues, the exact cause of the outage remains unclear. No official confirmation has been provided by eBay regarding the nature of the attack.
As this situation develops, users continue to face technical problems accessing vital features on eBay’s platform.
With no communication from eBay about when services might resume, many are left hoping for compensation due to the disruption.
