A mass shooting occurred at a party near Arcadia Lake in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Sunday night. The incident has left at least a dozen people injured.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. CT. Initial reports indicate that at least 10 individuals were confirmed hospitalized.

As of midday Monday, the number of hospitalized victims could rise. Some attendees drove themselves to nearby hospitals.

The gathering was described as a large party of young adults. It was reportedly called “Sunday Funday,” according to social media posts.

Victims received treatment at two facilities: nine were taken to Integris Health Baptist Medical Center and three to Integris Health Edmond Hospital.

The Edmond Police Department is leading the investigation with support from other agencies. They received multiple calls about shots fired prior to their response.

No suspects are currently in custody. Authorities believe two men wearing ski masks may have been involved.

This incident has raised significant concern within the Edmond community. Emily Ward, an official, stated, “This is obviously a very terrifying situation… we are working extremely hard to find these suspects and help these victims.”

The police spokesperson mentioned that they received multiple calls reporting gunfire, which led to a large response from law enforcement.

Arcadia Lake is a popular recreational area located about 13 miles north of Oklahoma City. This tragic event echoes memories of past violence in the area, as Edmond was previously the site of one of the deadliest workplace shootings in U.S. history.
