Incumbent Mayor Craig Morgan was reelected on May 2, 2026, in Round Rock, Texas. His opponent, Kelly Hall, was declared ineligible prior to the election on April 9.
In addition to Morgan’s victory, incumbents Michelle Ly and Frank Ortega were elected to the Round Rock City Council. Ly ran unopposed for Place 1, while Ortega faced no competition for Place 4.
Key election outcomes:
- Morgan defeated Hall after her disqualification.
- Ly and Ortega were elected without opposition.
- Propositions A and B were not approved by voters.
Proposition A aimed to amend the City’s Charter to allow twelve electronic message centers along IH-35 and SH-45. Proposition B proposed requiring the Fire Department to meet NFPA 1710 standards, with compliance beginning in 2027.
The official vote count will be canvassed by the City Council. A swearing-in ceremony is expected later this month.
This election also included local school board races and municipal elections across Williamson and Travis counties. In a related note, Brendan French was elected Senate president for the 2026–27 academic year at Tufts University.
The results mark a significant moment for local governance in Round Rock. However, officials have not yet confirmed the timeline for when the newly elected officials will take office.
