The Obama Presidential Center will open to the public on June 19, 2026, in Jackson Park, Chicago. This center aims to be a living monument to American citizenship.

The museum will feature interactive exhibits and a full-scale Oval Office replica. General admission prices will range from $23 to $30. Illinois residents can enter for free every Tuesday starting June 23, 2026.

Tickets will go on sale the Wednesday before the opening. Visitors can purchase a maximum of nine tickets at a time.

The campus spans 19.3 acres and includes free outdoor spaces, gardens, walking trails, and a playground. The museum itself will have four floors dedicated to showcasing the Obama presidency.

Valerie Jarrett stated, “President and Mrs. Obama have always believed that democracy is strongest when people come together in shared spaces.” This sentiment reflects the center’s mission of promoting civic participation.

Tickets will be available from June 19 through November 30, 2026. Children under age two can enter for free.

Barack Obama emphasized the goal of creating something that serves as a “living monument” not just to him but to the idea of American citizenship.

As excitement grows, many observers are eager to see how the center will impact civic engagement in Chicago and beyond.
